Tangerine Tea Recovery Drink

Happy New Year! If you overindulged a bit last night as you rang in 2013 and are looking for a recovery drink to get you back on track, this one may do the trick and help you shed extra holiday pounds, to boot.

I discovered this recipe on doctoroz.com a while back (He calls it weight-orade) and saved it to share with you today. This concoction blends just three ingredients, each with metabolism-boosting properties. Dr. Oz explains it this way.  “It contains green tea, shown to boost metabolism 12% by drinking just one cup;  tangerine, with a chemical composition that increases sensitivity to insulin and stimulates genes that help to burn fat; and mint, a calorie-free flavor enhancer.”

Gotta love that. And, of course, it tastes clean and refreshing which is exactly what we’re looking for to kick off the new year! Here’s to your health!

 

Tangerine Tea

Ingredients:

8 cups of brewed green tea

1 tangerine, peeled and sliced

1 handful of mint leaves

 

Directions:

1. Stir ingredients together in a pitcher. Let sit overnight to allow the flavors to blend. Drink one pitcher daily.
